Very curious how all of this ties into the Otokojuku universe.
Also, Miyashita’s women have some masculine features to them… Good ol’ Miyashita!
Otokojuku itself is a parody of Japanese ultra nationalists. Although you don’t see it in the anime (because it was censored), many of the teachers at Otokojuku actually wear WW2 era uniforms to hammer home that point. They are essentially Japan’s NAZIS.
These ultra nationalists were the same people who originally waged war on all of East Asia in WW2, killing and raping millions of people, plundering other countries, and subjecting millions to all manner of inhuman and horrific scientific experiments, not to mention the deaths of thousands of Americans at Pearl Harbor.
Once you begin to dig deeper into Otokojuku, you realize it’s not a laughing matter, especially if you’re American or from anywhere in East Asia.
