I love this anime. I’ve been watching this and ANJ2 by Takara Fansubs by release. ANJ1&2 is in my top 3 favorite animes next to Hokuto No Ken and Dragonball Z. I’m glad that you guys and saizen have brought this classic over to the states.
It’s a shame that most anime fans of the current generation probably could not recognize how excellent this show is. That’s why I don’t even consider myself an anime fan, I hate most of it. I only like a few shows that I can count on my fingers and most of them started before 2000.
Anyways, great job, keep it up, thanks for bringing the real classics!
I love this one, too. It proves you can have an anime without sci-fi/fantasy settings and still be truly entertaining. Props to the staff involved!

XxKeNoHxX: Why are you watching AnJ2 before finishing AnJ?
SystematicChaos: Because a few months ago I watched AnJ1 with spanish subs from Ashita No Project (another fansub group) starting from episode 30 or so (wherever you guys were around the time) to the Rikiishi fight. Then I found out about Takara Fansubs, and AnJ2 pretty much starts right after the Rikiishi fight so not much is left out.
I prefer the English subs though because Spanish is only my second language so it takes me a little longer to understand.
Also, I have the Ps2 game (the fighting/boxing one) and in combination with the internet not many spoilers for me!
