The Case Records of Professor Munakata vol. 02 ch. 07 & Complete Volume 2 (Manga)

Here’s chapter 7 (Professor Munakata manga): MediaFire
Here’s Volume 2 (Professor Munakata manga): MediaFire

    1678-HIT COMBO!
Finally we get a connection between Greek and Japanese mythology, with a cool Greek exchange student to steal Munakata’s niece’s heart. And ancient Greeks… what the hell? How mentally messed-up were you to come up with the minotaur? It’s wrong on so many levels.

In my opinion the tale of the “Minotaur” is perhaps inspired by actual events but the real identity of the characters got lost in retellings over thousands of years. Big strong men (including Hercules) are commonly associated with “bulls” so in reality queen Paiphae (or some other women of high social status) probably slept with a “bull” of a man and had his child, it is taboo for women of royalty to sleep with a man who is not her husband, especially taboo for them to bear a bastard child. This “bull” of a man must have been of low social status (possibly a slave, making the “relationship” all the more taboo), he may have come from the mainland by sea(thats where Poseidon comes in), and was physically bigger than most Cretans (mainlanders tend to be slightly bigger than islanders). The so called “Minotaur” must have been outcasted for all of the above and also for being “different” physically.
