    Important Announcement

Ladies and gentlemen, there’s going to be a bit of a change here on this site, so please read this carefully.

Back when Mangadex started two years ago, we were cautiously optimistic about whether it would be a viable place for uploading, so we continued with this blog. But seeing how it’s gained in so much popularity, and how it’s weathered attacks with only a few minor outages, we’ve decided it’s time to change the way we do things. From this point on, we will no longer post download links for manga on our release posts. We know this may be an inconvenience to some here, but we appreciate your understanding.

We’ll still post on the blog for discussion purposes, so please keep commenting so I don’t feel lonely. And of course, don’t forget to join our Discord via the widget on the right! Please, we’re very lonely.

I hate reading manga and comics online, and prefer to download them to read on my none and computer. Are there any other sites that will allow what you used to? In english, not spanish or italian. Simple yes or no, don’t tell me who they are, because there are people who here who would try to get them shut them down just for malicious glee.

What about Volume releases or compilations?

This. I can get that uploading chapters each times is a pain, but I think that compiled volumes should still be uploaded for archive purpose. Mangadex is gonna go down, or legal one day, it’s a fact.

I always like alternatives and always view MD as such since I don’t like reading online. I guess now MD is the only source to read which is sad.

Hope you guys change your mind or put up download link for volumes or batch. HnG already doing obscure stuff and to see all the releases only in one place that has been attacks few times makes me worry.

(Well, there are other aggregators but they put up shitty quality images)

Does this also apply to episodes of Kinnikuman?

    5. DekaBlack says:

      Well, thanks for the warning!

I can understand the reasoning, and I don’t especially mind with single chapters, but I do have to say I’d really like to see compiled volumes still made available. (Especially Cobra!)

FYI For those that don’t trust online readers to always be there (like me) you can use PoliteMangadexDownloader found on the MangaDex forums. It requires a MangaDex account and has some peculiarities with the way it fetches the list of available chapters (it uses your favorites and has issues with filtering out scans from groups you don’t want or languages you don’t speak) but it gets the job done and has lots of options for formatting the file names however you like. Most importantly it downloads the files in a way that keeps the servers from being hit any more than necessary so the site operators like it.

As a side note, does anybody actually know if scans on MangaDex are uncompressed? I think it says they are in their FAQ but I’ve never actually downloaded scans from a group and directly compared them to the same scan on MangaDex.

This is really terrible, I can’t download anything from mangadex without third party programs and jumping through multiple hoops, most which seem of questionable quality at best. I can not even search their site without an account. It will make it harder for me to keep up with Kengan chapters and I have been really enjoying the work done so far…

    9. somone says:

It seems you could use google to find a manga on mangadex instead of using mangadex’s search that requires a login account. To find hokuto no gun’s scans, simply do a google search for mangadex hokuto no gun.

I can’t say I appreciate this gesture but I understand it. Will you also upload to places like Madokami?

    11. il_kurgan says:

Twenty years dowloading manga and everything continue to change, maybe for the best as everyone hope.
      Well, it’s ok for me.
But what about MangaRock erasing so many manga from their list and mangastream closed…i’m not in a good mood about mangadex surviving too long. But we all see what’s going to happen sooner or later.

Not liking this at all :( Been away for long time and this was sad, they will shutdown like all the other pages before that. Would like a dl link for volume or a batch at least.
Also where are all the anime and how to download them???
