    An Impostor in our midsts?

LoverOfHokuto(Avatar)It has come to my attention that a certain person who goes by the name of yangwanghokuto has been shooting off his big mouth in various forums (See Ritual Scan Forge) claiming to be part of the HnG staff after being chastised for doing the dirty work of a Baki scanlation paysite known as WFP. Whoever this guy is, he is not acting on my authority, so I really don’t appreciate him giving out my email, telling people we need help for Rei Gaiden when we don’t, and above all, affiliating us with a paysite when our services are and always will be free. We don’t own this anime/manga, so we’re certainly not going to try and profit from something we do out of love for the series. Now, if this guy really is staff (which I highly doubt), I would expect him to speak to me directly as I do not wish my name or HnG to be affiliated with people who do the dirty work for sites that want money for other people’s work.

That sounds pretty fucked up :(

    2. Tell me about it.
Like SystematicChaos said, we seem to have a guy with an Amiba complex among us. What next, is he going to tell us he’s a genius too?

    3. Dopefiend says:

He’ll probly say he’s the owner of HnG (loverofhokuto) next and say HnG is gonna become a paysite :P

I don’t get it, what does he have to gain by doing this? Rep? Ads? In the old days I would have understood subbing and scans for some money, fansubbed vhs and stuff, but this is a new age…..

    5. Well, it could be one of these hater losers like zamunda, griffondoor (AKA Mick Hamblen), or even some Baki moron whose BS comments I deleted in the past. In other words, it could be someone with no life who has way too much time on their hands (believe me, the above mentioned are people like that). The one thing I do know with a great degree of certainty is that it’s definitely not one of our SnK editors.

I find it strange that in one of those posts in that forum link you posted he wrote that he’s apart of your staff and goes by another nickname and doesn’t mention what nickname but then links to your staff page. Seems redundant to link to the staff page if he doesnt wanna mention who he is on the staff. So yeah it’s most likely someone just BSing.

Doesn’t this guy have something else better to do than to ruin a perfectly good fansub group and forum?

If I ever get my hands on this guy I am going to use him for a punching bag to practise my Hokuto Hyakurestu Ken on!

he is not a “peng you”.

“doing the dirty work of a Baki scanlation paysite known as WFP”

I would like you to direct me where is this “site” you have to “pay” for stuff of the Wild Fang Project.

Before talking crap about us, get your records straight.

    10. Last I checked, a paysite is when you charge people a $30 fee to join a group to supposedly “fund” a translation. That’s not taking crap, that’s stating a fact. This is not a policy we agree with, so please keep your lackeys away from our site.

    11. wimmo says:

Also, Ichido Reichan, is also the ‘imposter’ that stated he was part of our team over at that forum….
Must be nice being sad and lonely with nowhere to go….

    12. Hahahhaa! Yeah, they quite rightly banned him (as they’d done countless times to his previous names) from the Ritual Scan Forum again. I’m sure he’ll be back with another ingenious name though.

    13. Ichido Reichan says:

Dude, the guys take my stuff and translate it as if it was theirs, thats a fact too, I don’t tell you how to run your site, don’t tell me how to run mine.

and there’s a long time that I don’t go there, I have no beef with you guys, I have no need or use to impersonate any of you, what my members do around is none of my business.

    14. Ichido Reichan says:

and by the way, you have a donation link to your site, what about not taking money from the fans?

    15. 1. I see, so asking your members to ban people on your behalf is non of your business? Regardless, it’s a free world, but I just hope your antics don’t make the real anime/manga companies come down hard on people like us who are trying to produce/share our favorite shows for free.

      2. As for the donations, it’s exactly that…donations! People don’t pay membership to receive something here, nor do they get banned for spreading our work. What people WILLINGLY give here (and believe me, we don’t get much) is used to cover our server costs. That reminds me, don’t you have at least 300 paid registered members in your group? By my calculations, that sounds like a cool $9.000 to me. Should I proceed by saying cha-ching?

    16. Ichido Reichan says:

Hahaha, no my friend, I said that but that was not accurate, if you become a member and you bring 10 friends…that’s 10 members.

since WFP started we have credit every single book with the person that donate for it, that’s about 96 people, sometimes groups of guys would chip in and all of them became members of the WFP for 5.00 or so.

and you have your donations for servers, I have donations for translations, a membership is something you constantly have to renew, we ask for the translation of [one book] to get all our past, present and future releases, we don’t ask always for money, we also accept “work” to become part of the fang.

Now, to belong to the fang there’s a contract because I have stuff that people want, and I need to look for those funds for future releases, it’s sad but your translators won’t do the stuff I want for free, and my translators neither, I don’t force you to agree to that contract, but there’s stuff you wouldn’t release to the public either (timed scripts, txt with your translations etc) I slower down my releases to the public and that’s why everyone is so pissed off at my “antics” or what you call them, stupid people are everywhere and I’m sure you banned a couple, me too, this member agreed upon the contact and broke it, and now he’s spreading stuff, is cool, it was meant to be free anyway, no?

Now I have to say that the WFP has not been involved in the impersonation of your group, we have taken no part nor we want to be named in the case, this is the internet and anybody can pose as anything for anytime, but we don’t win anything and this thing is not benefiting us, my apologies if you feel that someone in my group did you wrong but I’m too busy with my own projects to start monitoring what my members do in other sites.

Being this said, good luck in your projects and as a personal fan of your group we”l be looking forward to your next releases.

    17. In regards to our work method; let’s just agree to disagree here. As for the impostor; our primary goal was to expose him for the fraud he really is. However, since you know him (or at least have some influence over him), I’d appreciate it if you could tell to stop speaking on our behalf and using our name in the different forums he frequents.
