And with that, the most hot-blooded student in manga history takes his last bow, and you can finally read one of Shimamoto’s earliest (and definitely longest) series in its entirety in English, without waiting for some other group to pick it back up! And man, what a ride it’s been! This series I initially took at the suggestion of Wright, who also toughed it out the entire way through, and became blown away by the humor, parody, exaggerated tone, and just the overall amazingness (and unabashed nerdiness) of the author’s style. As you can probably tell, after that I sought out other manga written by this guy and translated them because of how much I came to love this manga. It’s not quite Otokojuku (and CERTAINLY not Fist of the North Star), but it’s brilliant in its own way.
Lastly I’d like to give a shout-out to, as usual, kazuhiko1412, who stuck out on this project not only for the entirety we’ve been working on this project, like he usually does, but from back when it was in the hands of another group that didn’t seem to care about it nearly as much as he did. As you can probably tell from his username, he’s a big Shimamoto Kazuhiko fan, and seeing this series fully translated is like a dream come true for him. So thank you, and you’re welcome.
And with that, go forth and get fired up with the finale of this series, or if you were waiting for us to finish it completely, prepare for the most blazing marathon in manga!
