Rasputin the Patriot vol. 01 ch. 01 (Manga)

Here’s chapter 1 (Rasputin manga): MediaFire

    2078-HIT COMBO!
Bet you never thought you’d see Junji Ito on this website! Yes, granted, he’s a little more popular than the artists we usually focus on, but of all his works this is probably the one that’s been the least likely to be even scanlated, much less officially translated. After all, it’s a bit of a departure from his usual masterful body horror, instead being based on a true story. And unfortunately, unlike what the title suggests, this is NOT a historical manga about Russia’s greatest love machine. Instead, it’s the Kafkaesque autobiography of a diplomat who compared himself to the Mad Monk after getting caught in a political purge during the early 2000s. And at the end of the day, isn’t that the real horror? Well, whatever your answer to that question, this is quite an interesting work in its own right, especially if you like legal thrillers and geopolitics, plus Ito’s unsettling artwork really adds to it. So you’re not going to want to skip out on this one!

Thank you, this always looked really cool.

I’ve never seen legal thriller in manga! Seems like the writer is the guy who co-authored Billy Bat, which is an endorsement in itself. And of course Itou Junji’s art is always a treat.

      Thanks for picking this up!

I think you mean the adapter, because the writer is Sato Masaru, and he’s an even more interesting (and controversial) figure. He hasn’t been involved in manga beyond this, but he’s one of the most prolific political writers in modern Japan. Plus this is his personal story. I recommend looking him up!
