YES, THAT’S RIGHT, FOLKS! The over-a-year-long drought of Hara releases is finally over! We’ve been having some difficulty as of late getting any Hara-related projects done because of LoverofHokuto facing some significant life changes, compounded by Calzone’s untimely passing, but thanks to the gracious efforts and volunteering of our long-time partner Wright and longer-time SnK translator Akromata, we’re starting to get back to doing what this group was formed to do in the first place! Now, it may be a while before the Hokuto Gaidens and Keiji get going again, but in the meantime we’re bringing you this short but still special gem of political and economic intrigue!

Now, this is a pretty significant project for me because it’s one of the hardest manga I’ve ever had to translate, relative to its length. Hara didn’t mess around in terms of the high level of vocabulary, plus I’d never translated anything in this genre before, so let me tell you, I’m really excited to see all that hard work pay off so you all can read it.

But why should you, Hokuto fans, care about this project, especially when this isn’t as action-oriented as most of Hara’s other works? Well, let me tell you: Nakabo Rintaro here actually was the inspiration for Kenshiro! Granted, not the original Kenshiro, that’d be a ridiculous notion. I’m talking about the chain-smoking, clever-disguising, easily-pissed-off Kasumi Kenshiro from SnK! In fact, Hara himself said that he liked this character so much, that he began planning SnK based off of imagining “What if Nakabo Rintaro knew Hokuto Shinken?” So if you liked SnK, read this manga to see how it all began!

Okay, as mentioned before, I’d like to thank Akromata and Wright for stepping in to save this manga from the hell the other Hara projects have fallen into, and also to LoverofHokuto and kazuhiko1412 for quality-checking the first chapter (just the first chapter) and making sure that we’re all set for the rest of the series.
